Out-of-State ADA Lawsuits on the Rise Across the Country: One Example
In October 2022, the Journal & Courier newspaper in Lafayette, Indiana, reported on lawsuits involving properties in Tippecanoe County, Indiana. These properties had ADA lawsuits brought against them by a law firm in Richardson, Texas. There are 887 miles between Tippecanoe County and Richardson, Texas.
HUD Seeks Public Comment on Potential Changes to Regulation Requiring Accessibility and Prohibiting Discrimination on the Basis of Disability in HUD-Assisted Programs
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) published an Advance Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPRM) in the Federal Register. HUD is considering revising the Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) implementing regulation at 24 C.F.R. part 8 and requests public comment to assist HUD in considering potential revisions.
